When a student takes the LitPro Test, the algorithm modifies the range of Lexile levels of the questions that are given to the student. This range is wider at the beginning of the test and it narrows as it gets closer to the student's true Lexile. So if a student answers a question correctly at the beginning of the test, the next question given will be a much higher Lexile variance than if a student answers correctly at the end of the test.
