What does the Lexile code RA mean?

These codes stand for “Read Aloud” - this is the term used by Scholastic in Australia, instead of AD or “Adult Directed”. The Australia team feels that “Adult Directed” is not as clear to the user as Read Aloud and it is what is commonly used there. Generally, if a quiz is written by the Australia team we have continued to use this code. Otherwise, we use the term AD/Adult Directed per standard Metametrics/Lexile codes.
