There is a new feature in SLZ under the Setup Users tab to reorganize students into new year/grade levels and classes for the new school year. Click the button Reorganize Users to begin the process.
On the first screen, you can select whether or not to move all students up a year/grade level and clear them out of their current classes. Once students are cleared out of their classes, they can then be reorganized into their new classes. After clicking Confirm, all students will be removed from their current classes. If Yes was selected, all students will also be moved up a year/grade level. If No was selected, students will remain in their current year/grade levels.
Next, click the link that says Download list of all students to download a list of all the students in the school. Students will have updated year/grade levels if Yes was selected on the previous screen. Students will have no class information.
Open the CSV file and add the students’ updated class information. Then, return to the Setup Users screen and re-import the updated CSV file.
If there are users with the same username, resolve the two accounts by specifying whether the two users are the same person or different people. Click Continue to go to the next step of the import.
Next, review the imported information to make sure it is correct. New users will have a New status and existing users will have an Existing status. If users are placed in existing classes, they will automatically be added to the existing class. If users are placed in a new class, that class will be created and the user will be added to it. Click Confirm to complete the import.
If any existing users were not included in the import file, the Review Existing Users screen will appear. Select any students who are no longer in the school and click Delete Selected. If all the students are still in the school, click Continue to move to the Organize Users screen. On this screen, you can reorganize students into groups.
