Can I use Literacy Pro with students who cannot yet read?

The LitPro Test is a measure of a student’s reading level, but it is not a diagnostic test for students who are emerging readers or who are not yet able to read (either because they are ESL or for other reasons). Those students will most likely receive a BR ("Beginning Reader") on the LitPro Test. MetaMetrics (the researchers who developed the concept of the Lexile) is working on a more nuanced BR scale that will provide more clarity for emerging and beginning readers in the early grades, but they are still in the research and validation phase.
